Museums at san francisco, California - When a foggy morning, you might want to spend a few hours at one of the many world-class city museum. Golden Gate Park is home to a copper-clad MH de Young Memorial Museum, which houses a collection of contemporary and indigenous art. Former Asian collection de Young Museum is now permanently stored in the San Francisco Asian Art Museum, which is located in the Civic Center. Across the de Young Museum stands the California Academy of Sciences, which holds a huge array of science exhibits, including an aquarium and natural history museum.
California Palace of the Legion of Honor is in Lincoln Park in the northwest corner of the district of Richmond. In Nob Hill, Cable Car Museum offers exhibits on the famous San Francisco landmark move. Castro is near Randall Museum, a children's museum this beautiful little. The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Moscone Center, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Zeum, Cartoon Art Museum, Museum of the African Diaspora and the Museum of Craft and Folk Art are all located in SoMa, south of Union Square. The Contemporary Jewish Museum, designed by Daniel Libeskind and opened in June 2008, is the latest addition to the museum's main scenes of San Francisco.
At Hyde Street Pier in Fisherman's Wharf you can go on the boat history, including the 1886 clipper ship Balclutha, walking-beam ferry, pull steam and coastal schooner. At Pier 45 just to the east, the World War II submarine USS Pampanito and World War II Liberty Ship SS Jeremiah O'Brien can be visited. Nearby is the Aquarium of the Bay at Pier 39 and the Wax Museum.
The Exploratorium (closed to move to Pier 15 to 15 April 2013) at the Palace of Fine Arts in the Marina will keep you busy for a day with science and perception exhibits. Also in the Marina district is Fort Mason, home to several cultural museums.
