Haight Ashbury Street Fair, Haight. On the second Sunday of June, people packed the Upper Haight this event featuring local bands, food stalls and plenty of shopping.
LovEvolution (formerly Love Parade and Love Fest). An annual event held yearly on a Saturday in late September or early October. It has become the largest public electronic music festival in the country. The field and floats gather at 2nd and Howard in SoMa with the floats down Market and ending at Civic Center Plaza. It attracts well known electronic DJ and thousands of partiers, with some dressing up in outlandish costumes to join in the parade.
San Francisco Blues Festival, Fort Mason, Golden Gate. Last weekend in September. Oldest continually running blues fest in the world, attracting some great Blues players every year. To starve, they also have some flavorful New Orleans style barbeques to compliment the music.
San Francisco International Film Festival, based at the Presidio, Golden Gate, but smaller events across the city. Two weeks in April / May Organized by the San Francisco Film Society is based in the Presidio, but the arthouse movies, documentaries, and short films shown throughout the city.
Tet Festival, Civic Center-Tenderloin area. Mid-January to mid-February. Celebrate New Year's Vietnamese style at this festival. This is a great opportunity to sample some delicious Vietnamese dishes that they have in the area.
Union Street Art Festival, Golden Gate. The first weekend in June. This festival attracts many local artists who lined the streets to show their arts and crafts, along with jazz music and classical music performances and an organic farmer's market.
